No itching, no discharge, no smell.
I have had no problems at all with intercourse because of thinning tissues.
He does sometimes use his hand as part of the stimulation. Bacterial, perhaps?

Hello,

The commonest causes of swelling of the vagina are :

- Yeast infection - you should have had white curdy discharge with itching. Since you don't ,that is eliminated.

- Trichomoniasis - Here, there is usually itching with sometimes severe swelling of the vagina. Which you have.

- Bacterial vaginosis - There should have been a mild discharge with an odour. But it an also occur sometimes without producing an odour.

I believe that the best treatment for you would be a course of Metronidazole tablets (500mg twice daily for 5 days). This works against both Trichomoniasis and bacterial vaginosis. You must also take an anti inflammatory medicine like Ibuprofen (500 mg twice daily after food for 5 days). These are prescription drugs and you will need to see a doctor about it. You must also take a good multivitamin multimineral capsule with the antibiotic.

Since trichomoniasis is a sexually transmitted disease, your partner will also have to take the metronidazole. This disease can stay in the male urethra for years without producing any symptoms but once it passes to the female, causes itching and sswelling of the vagina.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
