My daughter is 15 years old and is the last two days complaining of headaches on the front top of her head and forehead. She has been on predisone for poison ivy which cleared up. She stopped taking the medicine two days ago predisone 10 mg 4 tablets a day. Can this cause her headaches? Also she has been having her monthly period for eight days now. Would all this be due to the predisone?

Yes, i could be do to predisone. Headaches are common with use of steriods. Usually, secondary to water and sodium retention. Steriods can affect the period as well. It takes several days for the steriods to metabolized completely from the body. If she continues to be uncomfortable it wouldn't hurt to take her back to the doctor for a stronger pain reliever in the meantime.

Hope I was able to help!
