I would NOT use this unless you check with your oncologist - Many of the chemotherapy drugs have multiple drug-drug or drug-nutrient interaction. I would review your meds and any supplements/herbal/over-the-counter medications you are using or considering using with your oncologist to prevent strange reactions or drug interactions.

Better safe than sorry

Reply to Family Physician's Post: We are dealing with Lung/lymph node/liver cancers.. stage 1V. Patient has completed second series of (3 each) chemo treatments. Is feeling good, has had none of the expected side effects.
Has not lost weight. Has some muscle weakness.
Will shortly have second cat scan to determine if
any cancer cells have died. We would like to go to
a natural treatment/cure that is non-toxic to the body. Of course, we would rather be safe than sorry but we need some definite recommendations.
We have consulted with a nutritionist and sympathic internist. both are attached to the same hospital as the oncologist and frankly admit they can not "rock the boat" for fear of losing hospital priveledges.

The oncologist feels nutrition/alternative medicine/supplementaion is vodoo medicine and refuses to discuss. We feel there are products out there we can use to keep the body strong and prevent many of the side effects of chemo.

There are a few studies IN RATS - which seem to suggest that Zeolite may have some use.

These two studies are both done in Croatia - not known internationally as the most medically advanced research arena.

The concern - some members of this type of chemical can indeed CAUSE cancer - mesothelioma specifically.

If you want to seriously persue this - I would consider getting a second opinion for another oncologist - possibly one with experience or interest in alternative approaches to treatment.

Where do you live?

Reply to Family Physician's Post: We are in the Portland, Oregon area.
I agree we need to find an MD/ND who uses
supplementation and other naturapathic treatment to follow the second series of Chemo.

Cancer Treatment Centers of America has a center in Seattle - about 3 hours from you. They use what they describe as an integrative approach.

You may want to check into getting a second opinion from them. Depending on how frequently you are getting chemo - this might be an option. For local support/treatment - they may have affiliated physicians or physicians who are at least not hostile to the alternative approach you are seaking.
