I have several strains of HPV along with cervical dysplasia. In more recent pap smears, the cervical dysplasia was not found, but SIL was discovered.
My question is not related to the HPV/cervical cancer risk (although any information or advice in that area is always appreciated), but rather about my concerns regarding taking a certain medication while I have HPV. I was prescribed Prednisone for problems that I have been having with pressure in my ears since flying while congested, but am concerned because of the suppression of the immune system by this drug. Is it a good idea to take this medication, as my immune system needs to be in good condition to fight the HPV? Does this drug only suppress parts of the immune system related to allergic reactions and swelling? Thank you for any information you can provide.
