Headaches

Sent to Health Experts August 02 11:05 AM

My husband get's a bad headache about once a month. Usually accompanied with nausea. He works for FedEx as a Contractor and is out delivering all day. What do you sugguest to be the best over the counter medicine for this type of headache? Or are there any foods to avoid or to eat to help the symptoms. Are there any pressure points he can use to get him through the day? He doesn't have a relief driver so he has to work like this. Not fair - but true. He also has heartburn with it. It could be from the stress off the headache coming on but I am not sure. He has a hernia.

Hello, Customer (name blocked for privacy),

From my own experience and from others I know who suffer with headaches, including migraines, the most effective over-the-counter med to take is Excedrine. It should be taken as soon as your husband feels the headache coming on and not wait until it is a full blown ache.

Has your husband been seen by a doctor? It sounds like he may be experiencing migraines. It would be to his advantage to see a doctor because there are effective prescription medications for migraines.
