Does Vitamin B6 help carpal tunnel?

Does Vitamin B6 help carpal tunnel? What is the recommended dosage?
I have read several web articles stating that Vit.B can help alleviate pain from carpal tunnel. My tendons on wrists are sore, swollen and very painful. Over-the-counter analgesics, NSAIDS, Tylenol, and Asperin, while helpful, do not stop the pain. I've also applied ice at 15 min. intervals to help reduce swelling and have used Epson Salts soaks.
This condition became acute after doing some prunning in the garden and using the computer for extended times. I've stopped both activities.
Having "trigger finger" on Lt. hand.
No insurance, 62 yrs. old, fixed income.
Thank you.
Jane B.

Good afternoon,

Sorry to hear that you are suffering with carpal tunnel. It's not surprising that you have developed this very painful syndrome especially when using a computer keyboard is a good source of "repetitive" hand and wrist activity which is the cause of the syndrome.

And inflammation of the tendon ocurs and it is very difficult to control. As you indicated, you have already used the NSAIDS, and aspirin, etc.

Several types of medications have been used in the treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome. Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) has been reported to relieve some symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome, although it is not known how this medication works. Recommended dose is 50mg 2 to 3 times a day.

Please see the attached website for specific information. I think that you will find it interesting.
