Woke up this a.m. with one swollen, red, weeping eye...I put eye drops in the eye and rinsed my face, but it still feels scratchy.

Ok, you have pink eye and this is an infection. There are over the counter medications that your local pharmacist can provide you with. He may also be able to provide a prescribed antibiotic for this without a doctors written prescription. But you have pink eye and it is caused by a common bacterial infection.

Wash your hands well and do not contaminate your other eye with contact. As it can spread. This can also be passed on to other people so it is good to keep your hands clean. Go to your pharmacist that is open and ask for help on a med for it. They can fill one or offer one that is over the counter to take care of this. Try not to rub your eyes too much as this will worsen the redness.
