constipation

Sent to Health Experts September 09 04:43 PM

ok heres my question in a nutshell. ive never had a problem going to the bathroom before in my life. yesterday when attempting to go number 2 i simply could not get it out, when i attempt to force it out it hurts and just feels blocked. i take it this would mean i am constipated. i am having the same problem now for the second day, do you think a stimulant laxative/stool softener combination will solve this problem. it is very uncomfortable! thanks for responding asap. ps i think the reason for this is a medication i am taking (oxycontin) probably mixed with lack of sufficient fluids. if that helps any in offering me a quick solution to this

Yes, you can try a laxative and/or stool softener. Also start drinking plenty of fluids. Increase your fiber intake as well. Don't push, as this will cause hemorrhoids.

Once you start to have a bowel movement, you should be fine, but continue the water and fiber.

Hope this helps, If you need anything else please feel free to ask. If you found this helpful don’t forget to click the *ACCEPT* button and leave *POSITIVE* feedback.

I guess I am confused, your original question states: "could not get it out"

now you are saying you are having bowel movements that do come out?

Or you just have the urge to go, but the stool is not coming out?

Cramps will happen when you are constipated. You can apply a heating pad to the area where the pain is, it will help some. Do start drinking some water though, and if you have a stool softener, do take that too, as it will help with getting the stool out. I know the urge is there, but try to relax the best you can, this will help prevent any anal tears as well.

Best of luck Hun. If you need anything else, just ask. Please do leave me feedback after clicking accept as I will do the same.

Thanks Hun
