What you are describing sounds a lot like Tinea Versicolor or sun spots. This is a fungal infection that is fairly common in people that tan or are in the sun a lot. There are a couple of home remedies that you can try first before seeing a doctor. Try Nizoral Shampoo and if you can't find any try Selsun Blue shampoo. While in the shower or taking a bath rub this over your entire body and stand out of the water for 15 minutes. You may have to do this several times a week for 2-3 weeks to get the results that you want. If this doesn't clear up the way you wanted it to in 2 weeks then you need to see a doctor for anti-fungal medication or a prescription anti-fungal shampoo.
