Hello,

I am Paravathi Ramachandra.I got a question regarding my son's bladder reflux.

My son is 7 yrs old.He was 31/2 when diagnoised with bladder reflux. His doctor put him on prophylactic antibiotic for 21/2 years and took off from the medication a year ago.To begin with he had reflux of level three and it was one just before he was taken off the medicatin. But a month ago I took him to the doctor again because he started bedwetting everyday from 3or 4months.They did the VCUG again and it showed again level 3 of reflux. Doctor also found out a notch in his bladder jucction and he is shedule d for surgery next month.

My question is Is it possible for one to develop reflux from a low level to a high one.And if there is a notch is it a cyst or what kind it is and Can he undergo surgery for that? What is the future of the reflux and his over all health of the urinary system? I greately appreciate your reply.

Thanks and regards.

Parvathi Ramachandra.
