Three yrs ago I started having anxiety attacks, during this time my blood pressure occasionally would be borderline (I take 25 mg atenolol) and was diagnosed as having low thyroid (take .075 synthroid). Some of the medicines I tried for anxiety caused weight gain that I have had problems getting off. However, when blood tested for cholesterol/triglycerides during episodes of anxiety results are always high, but within a week or two of feeling well I can be retested and all will be normal. I always fast before taking test. This has happened four times (once within one week). Is your cholesterol/triglyceride levels affected by stress or anxiety? or is the testing inaccurate? thanks for your help.....I've not been able to find anyone who can answer this for me (why are testing results so different each time taken?)
