Sent to Health Experts October 01, 2006 11:20 p.m.

My sister is an alcholic and about 2 weeks ago her eyes have swelled shut. I took her to the ER and the DR gave her Tylenol 3 and sent us to the oral suergon thinking she needed a tooth pulled that had been absessed. I know that Tylenol should not be given to an alcholic because of the problems it causes the liver. She has an appointment with an internal medicine DR on Fri. I just wanted to know if I should wait till then to take her to go to another ER ASAP???

ACCEPTED Check Mark

If her eyes are still swollen shut she needs to go back to the ER. You also need to tell them that she is a heavy drinker and tylenol is contraindicated.

This may be related to her liver and her drinking rather than a bad tooth.

but i did tell the Dr about the drinking. But my main question is even thought she is not in any pain ( didnt fill the Tylenol rx) can she wait till her appointment on Fri coming up? i also thought the swelling may have been due to some problem with her kidneys, even though she has had not complaints about them.
