Question

How do I treat blisters left from a burn associated with a hair dye pr

Sent to Health Experts October 12, 2006 2:10 a.m.

My hair was colored about two weeks ago. I woke up with a blister on the side of my forehead, by the next day I had huge scabs on my hair line. I went to emergency and the doctor prescribe internal antibiotics. She advised no topical anti biotics. After a few days of researching. I began putting Mederma on the scarring. The next morning all the scabs had fallen off. I am now experiencing blistering again which is the way it started in the beginning. I don't know what I should apply to the blistering, because the emergency doctor was not much help at all. How should I treat this chemical burn and blistering along my hair line ? Should I cover it or leave it open ? Should or shouldn't I apply some type of topical treatment ? Do I need to see a Dermatoligist or a Medical Doctor ?

Hi

You need to visit a dermatologist who would be the best guide in your case. These blisters could be due to allergy to the chemical applied or fungal infection or both together. For a confirmed diagnosis, examination is important. You might even need steroids which a dermatologist can decide upon after looking at the problem. Donot apply any medication on it right now.

Hope this was helpful. You are welcome to ask doubts if any.
