I was prescribed Tetracycline for a rash on my face.

I started taking the pills on Monday. I had a loss of appetie and nausea immediately, but the symptoms went in waves. I have also been extremely tired since taking the medicine. I have also had vommiting on Wednesday night and Thursday. Yesterday I got an extreme headache and blurred vision. I also had a fever yesterday of about 100. Now my fever is reduced to about 99. I have never had a history of a similar drug reaction. The only other medicine that I am taking is birth control pills (orthotrycycline). I am a 30 year old female. I don't know my pulse or blood pressure, but they feel normal.

Hello,

Yes it is safe to take a Tylenol to reduce fever.Head ache and Blurred vision are the listed side effects of this drug. Also Tetracycline can also interact with oralcontraceptives. So most likely these symptoms are due to Tetracycline side effect. These symptoms should subside soon after stopping this drug.

As far as Physician visit is concerned I would recommend this for a blood work to rule out other causes of fever
