Question

I'm having to take random weekly drug test*urine

Sent to Health Experts May 02, 2007 8:20 p.m.

I'm having to take random weekly drug test*urine test*.I have'nt used in 6 months and was going to graduate drug court in 6 more months. On april tenth i was in the ER for 9 hours with an UTI but before it was determined that i had UTI the Dr gave me a CT scan, tylenol "rectal"<<not sure if it was tylenol 3 or not.He gave me Levaquin IV before i left and a Rx for Ultram 50mg and Leviquin 500mg.I got out of the ER at 4am on the 11th.Later that day i had a drug test and ended up positive for opiates eventhough i have'nt used for 6 months.I read that levaquin can cause false positives and i just wanted some advice from someone who should know. The bad thing about this is my case manager is supposed to inform me when i test positive so my urine can be sent off for a G-mass.But he didnt get in touch with me til now and the testing facility no longer has my specimen. Thanks Alot

Do you have the records from the ER? And to make sure I do understand correct are you saying they gave you medication through a suppository? This will allow me to eb of better help to you. Thank you.

Thank you for that information as with some suppositories they have added ingrediants such as Compozine or Phenergen which are the standard suppositories used and I have known of a couple of people who have failed drug screens due to Phenergen. Yes for some the Levaqine can cause a reaction and alter the results but usually with this it does not come back positive for Opitates. Also consider that the Ultram while Non narcotic has been known to cause result issues also so I do highly advise for you to get your records and also want to mention that since they are supposed to keep your sample for defining which is what they mean by a g-mass then I do not see how with what you were given for a medical issue, that they can hold this against you and I would highly recommend a re-test as without you taking any of these for more than 2 days this would allow for a negative result also.
