I am a 47 yr old female and am going through menapause. I missed my first period 1-99. My last period was 12-04. There have been 3 or 4 instances where I have had a light pink coloring on my underpants that last for one day and maybe not the whole day. My question is, am I still having periods? From the time I first started menstrating I had intense pain, vomiting, diarreah and I would pass out. It felt like my upper legs were being eat off. After my children were born, most of that stopped. The pain did not. I do not expreience any of that that and haven't for almost 2 yrs!! Today I woke and felt the back pain of a woman in labor, and 3 dots of a bloody show. Thats is the extent of it. Is that a period or what is it? Thank you in advance for answering this question for me.

Hello, Because I have spent the past years with a wife going through menopause I have become educated as to the whys and wherefores.

At this point it really sounds like you need a check up for a dr to be sure everything is ok.

Your dr can not only give you a needed pap smear that can tell the conditions going on inside,one quick test can tell you alot so if you've not had one in a while do consider it. It can save your life.

There are varying degrees in menopause.

Premenopause,Perimenopause ,Menopause and Post Menopause.

I get pap smears yearly and they have always been normal. I can not be on hormone replacement as I smoke. I have read alot of article on menapause, but that is not my question.

I already know I am going through menapause...possibly post menapause. I wanted to know if I was experiencing a menstation cycle, which, if you are not a doctor or nurse and I'm assuming not, I feel you are unqualified to tell me what I need to know, but thank you for responding.
