Sent to Health Experts January 19 10:03 PM

i have had an IUD for 5 years and have normal menstrual cycles at 29 days. i began bleeding with cramping and lightheadness on day14. i would guess that i am having a miscarriage and am wondering since ectopics are common with iud''s if it is possible to miscarry and ectopic. i would like to not seek medical care if possible

jess,

An early ectopic pregnancy can have symptoms such as a regular pregnancy including a missed period, tender breasts, fatigue, nausea, and increased urination. As it progresses, other symptoms develop including abdominal or pelvic pain that may occur sharply on one side at first and then spread throughout the pelvic region, pain with intercourse, dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting (syncope) caused by internal bleeding, and shoulder pain caused by bleeding into the abdomen under the diaphragm. If left untreated, a tubal ectopic pregnancy can cause fallopian tube damage and life-threatening blood loss. If you feel this fits the description, please see a doctor asap to get tested.
