I'm 14 4/7 weeks pregnant. I was wondering about the conception date. My last menstrual cycle was 09/April/2006. I was sleeping with my boyfriend throughout this month but on the 29th April someone had sex with me without my consent. I was just wondering whether there is any chance at all that this baby could be his? Thank you.

Hello,

Pregnancy occurs when you have sex with someone at the time of ovulation - that is when an egg is released from your ovaries.

Ovulation normally occurs on the 14th day of a 28 day menstrual cycle, the 10th to the 16th day being the most fertile period. The first day of the period is considered the first day of the cycle.

If you have a regular 28 day cycle, you must have ovulated approximately on the 23rd April. If you were sleeping with your boyfriend at this time the chances are, he is the father.

The 29th of April is too far away from your ovulation date for fertlization to occur at the time. This is assuming you have a regular 28 day cycle.

If you have a 26 day cycle, it brings your day of ovulation 2 days early, to the 21st of April.

The chances of your boyfriend being the father is positive.
