My menstrual cycle.

At this time, I am going thru my menstrual cycle. Just today, about 4:00 pm cst, i noticed that I am having very unusual large Blood Clots, it has gotten so bad in the last hour that I have to change my tampon and my pad every 15-30 minutes. Why is this happening and is this normal?
