About my period.

If i use tampons when im on my period and thats all i use, does that make my period last longer; than if one only use pads? I dont like pads at all. I just want to know if there is something different that will make you stay on your period even longer. Is there a difference? How can you help not flowing so heavy? Thank you for your time, i really do appriciate it. Please keep in touch. I have many questions on this.
