Hello,

Lack of menstrual periods is generally due to either a problem in the uterus or in the ovaries.

If you have had at least 2 or more normal periods with average blood flow after the abortion, then it is unlikely to be due to a problem in the uterus.

Since you had not had a period even before the abortion, the chances are high that you have a hormonal problem. Your ovaries are failing to produce eggs (ovulation), and without ovulation, you cannot have periods.

You will need to be thoroughly investigated to find out the cause of your lack of periods. The cause could be primarily in the ovaries or it may be due to problems in the pituitary gland, thyroid gland, adrenal gland etc which are affecting the ovaries.

Please consult your Ob-gyn. Only a series of tests to identify the cause will help in deciding what treatment can give you a normal regular period.

I hope this helps.

Hello,

No, I am afraid that there are no over the counter medicines that will help.

Unless the cause of your lack of menstrual periods is known, it will be impossible to suggest any medicines. And all medicines that are used to treat hormonal imbalances or to stimulate the ovaries are prescription medicines.

Vitamins will not help either as mild deficiency of vitamins are unlikely to cause absence of menstrual periods. And severe deficiencies will need supplements which will need to be calculated by a doctor.

I hope this helps.
