I am 42 years old. My periods have always been very regular. But since my last one which ended 11/24, I have bleed twice, two three days each in the last two weeks. What is going on?

It is possible your body may be going into pre-menopause. You can get a blood test to determine this with your doctor. Other cause for irregular menstruation can include: Possible pregnancy. Other causes can be; stress, weight gain/loss, medication, illness, climate, cyst, or polyp of the cervix, hormonal. Thyroid, infection, .. just to name a few.

Without a proper exam it would be hard to pin point the exact cause. So you can either wait and see if this occurs next month as well, or if you go back to your normal schedule.
