Question re vaginal health

Sent to Health Experts July 25, 2006 11:47 p.m.

I have discovered some bumps around my vaginal opening, and am concerned about what they are. I am a virgin and have never been with anyone, so I do not see how it can be an STD. I have not always had regular menstruation cycles - in fact, in years past, I have gone months without one - but recently have been becoming more regular. Do you have any suggestions as to what these bumps can be attributed to?

Do you shave the vaginal area? How often do they occur?

Thanks

No, I don't shave that area. I don't know how long they have been there, but I noticed them and wondered if it could be something serious. They are around the posterior area of my vagina, near to the vaginal opening.

Since you have not had sex, and they are not in the vaginal area, it may be due to infected follicles. Which can occur due to irritation, of possibly wearing a pad, or clothing, plus with it being hot, these area's sweat and become moist. Keep the area clean with antibacterial soap. Try to wear loose clothing, along with cotton panties as this will allow the area to breath better. If you do an activity where you may be sweating, wash with the antibacterial soap as soon as you can. Also make sure the area is dry prior to getting dressed. So at this point, unless the spread further or you develop other symptoms, it doesn't appear to be anything serious.

Hope this helps, If you need anything else please feel free to ask. If you found this helpful don’t forget to click the *Accept* button.
