Pain here most often suggests a problem in the lower colon, where food waste is expelled. Possible causes include inflammatory bowel disease or an infection in the colon known as diverticulitis.
In females, this can also indicate ovarian cyst as well. Which most often do resolve on their own. The best way to determine if this is due to ovarian cyst is to have an ultra sound done while you are having the pain. If the pain subsides during your menstruation or shortly after your period stops, then chances are it's due to a cyst.
I would follow up with your doctor as an ultra sound or possible x ray should be done.
