my wife stopped having her periods Three years ago immediatelly after we got married.i love her but the idea of infertility always looms on us and we have tried our best to no avail.

she is 26years old

the gynae said she lacks the hormones responsible for ovulation and mensturation

the last test he did was to run a pregnancy scan when we thought she was pregnant because of the missed periods,we were told she was not pregnant and we were surprised,we went back after one year and she was prescribed the hormone boosting pills which haven't worked.she oftenly feels dizzy and chest pains

Hi,

This is called as secondary amenorrhoea in medical language .Secondary amenorrhoea is when menstruation has previously occurred but it has stopped for at least 6 consecutive months

Following investigations are usually needed for evaluation of cause of amenorrhoea .

Pelvic ultrasound

FSH and LH

Thyroid function tests

Serum Prolactin levels

Pelvic examination

Pap smear.
