I already asked the question as to when its safe to drink after having mono. Its been 4 weeks since i was disagnosed and im wondering if my liver still is enlarged would 1-2 nights of heavy drinking put me in serious jepordy. And also what type of trouble would i be in?

Yes, it could. I wouldn't drink for at least six months as that is how long mono can stay in your system even if you feel better. It would be dangerous to your spleen as well, and may cause hemorrhage.

i just asked the same question last night and the response was that after 4 weeks of diagnosis it was safe to drink

Hello

You will have to decide which one is the safest for you. You might want to ask your personal doctor who knows you best. I'm wondering why you asked twice if you already had an answer. I stand by my answer based on years in the field, and seeing it with my own eyes what alcohol can do to someone who shouldn't be drinking it.

If you cannot abstain, perhaps an AA meeting would help you?

But i am just confused as to why just yesterday i got advice on this same website to drink after 4 weeks and now you are saying 6 months it is very odd, and on most websites it says 1-2 months. Is 6 months just to be very very cautious?
