A rash has developed on my lower back it is red raised dots that itch terribly and feel as though they burn. I have been to see the nurse and she prescribe Medrol pkt. 4 mg. in a step down dose I have finished the pack although the medication keep the itching down when the rash did not disappear, and after the medication was completed the terrible itch came back. Can you help

Reply to Family Physician's Post: I have had the rash about 21/2 weeks. It is located on my lower bavk just above my waist band it is some on both sides of my spine up to where my bra line is, but the most of it is is down the spine area.

I have finished a 6 day dose pack of Medrol. 4 mg.

At this point, since a course of steroids has not worked, I would be concerned that this might be scabies (cause by a mite that burrows under the skin) or some type of infection.

I would suggest making an appointment with a DERMATOLOGIST to have this checked ASAP.
