Shiny skin means that the skin is overproducing oil. There are a lot of over the counter lotions out there that can help this problem.

this doesn't seem to help the situation, but thank you. My Aunt was a nurse practioner (sp?) and she had asked my mom if she had shiny legs - which my mom did and does now. She never told her why she wanted to know this. A doctor asked my mom this yesterday, but did not tell her why - or what it relates to. my mom is currently in the hospital with mocro-valve prolapse, and artial fibulation (not sure of the spelling on that either). She is extremely dizzy - especially when she lays down. Is having shiny legs have anything to do with her situation. Any additional info. you have would be helpful. Thanks

Usually it relates to overproduction of testosterone, which in turn makes the sebaceous glands secrete more oil.
