Not used to working, my calves ache from an 8-hour day on my feet today. No edema, and I wore orthotics in my shoes. What can I do for the aching now that I am home? I am a Nurse.

Hello

Elevate your legs, use ice or heat, which ever helps more. A hot soak in the tub will help as well. Advil or motrin for the discomfort.

Being a nurse myself, I can sure identify with your pain! What saved my life and my legs was purchasing a good pair of Dansko nurses clogs. They come in a lot of colors, and I've never had sore feet or legs again. They are about 100, but well worth the investment.

Reply to Kerry's Post: I have a duodenal ulcer and cannot take any asa based medication. I did try soaking in tub, elevating legs and I do have air nursing clogs. What else can I try?

Okay, thanks for the added information.

I would next try some ben-gay or icy-hot cream.
