But to let you know, all children are not the same when it comes this. My husband had this as a baby too. (They didn't expect him to survive) Once he had surgery he blossomed and slowly started to gain his strength (according this parents) This was back in 1970 when the technology was not as it is today. He is a normal male. No downs or anything like that. As he got older, if he doesn't eat the correct amount of fiber he does and can become constipated easier than someone without this condition.
According to his Specialist the reasons why is because the muscles are a bit weaker where they had to reconnect certain parts of the intestine.
