I turned 57 in July and seem to have lost several pounds in the past few months. No real changes in my diet or routine. Should I be concerned?

Optional Information:
Female , Age: 57

Already Tried:
Nothing. It is just recently that I noticed the weight loss due to season change and wardrobe change. Things that were snug on me last fall are literally ralling off me. I am a long time smoker and drinker but feel basically good. I exercise and lift weights. Thanks, Slgjhg

Yes, it would be advisable to consult your physician for this. Weight loss and gain of course can occur quite naturally, but if there is no major change of routine, then you should go for a check up. At your age, the problem that comes immediately to mind is diabetes, but many other diseases just maight be involved, like hyperthyroidism, etc. A check up would be necessary to rule these out.
