My child who is 12 has been sick for the last month and a half and they don't know why.
We were told at first she had the stomach flu when it all started and they kept telling me its just taking time for her to get over it. She has been throwing up, fever, pain around the lower belly and belly button and right side of back. she had been dizzy at times and her stools are hard one time and runny the next. She has lost weight which is really bad anyway because she only weights 60 pounds now she has lost 4 pounds in 2 months. She was put in the hospital 2 weeks ago and diagnosed with dehiration and a viral infection and was treat for 3 days of iv fluid and They ran some blood test and stool test.and then sent her home where she has been doing the same thing only the pain is staying around longer, coming more often, and is getting harder. She is going to what is supposed to be the best hospital for children in our city but i dont know. Can you help with any sugguestions on what i should do to help herl. What should i have them check for. Should I switch her doctor, and get her away from that hospital.

Yes she seen one in the hospital and he told me something really stupid (her belly may have fallen asleep)and she has not been back to see him but i have an appointment tomorrow for her with another doctor for a second answer. Should i ask for something for him to look for. She goes to riley hospital in inadianapolis, indiana which was really good with my other daughter but has really disappointed me with ashley.

I would ask about the possibilities of irritable bowel syndrome or Crohn's disease. She'd need a colonoscopy to check for these, and I'd really suggest getting these things checked out. This is a very long time for her to have these symptoms.

she has another appointment tomorrow with a new gastroenterologist for a colonoscopy. So hopefully with this new doctor we will get some answers. Thank you for asking about it to day. Hopefully we will have more answers after tomorrow.           Danielle
