My friend has a 2 week old baby. The baby is only eating 2 to 2 1/2 oz per feeding. Then as soon as she eats she poop. This may not sound bad but she is pooping all the time. She changed her 18 times yesterday and it seems a bit mucosy. The baby is losing weight and from the constant loose stools, she is raw bottomed. She fears dehydration for her and isn't sure what to do. Her pediatrician will not see her til Monday but I told her I think it seems serious and she should take her to the ER at the Childrens Hospital. Any thoughts on what this could be? The baby also, at times spits up our her nose. Something isn't right.
