I am concerned about my granddaughter's appearance of a tremor. I have not concerned myself too much about it, but now my daughter and her husband are noticing it also. She is almost 11 mos. old and moves her left shoulder, arm and hand forward, as in a shrugging and moving forward motion. This is not looking voluntary. Should we be concerned?

How often does this happen? Are there activities that seem to lead up to the movement? Is it rhythmic?

One thing you can do is see if you can stop the activity by touching her. It is more likely to be a problem if touching her doesn't stop the activity. If this continues, or if you notice other behaviors like eye movements, lip smacking, more body parts involved, you definitely need to take her to the pediatrician and get her checked.
