A good vitamin E based ointment that forms a barrier against moisture should work. Any good diaper rash cream (I use Burts Bees--available at drugstore.com) If you are using a cream continually for a week and it does not clear up you should get in touch with your pediatrician as it may be a rash caused by yeast that will need a special antibiotic cream prescribed for it.
