Hello I have a grandson that will be two in april

Hello I have a grandson that will be two in april and he has been staying with me this week. My question is about his dreams, at least i think they are dreams. He screams in the middle of the night and sometimes he gets up and walks into the kitchen and then starts to scream. Sometimes I san get him to quite down by calling his name as i hold hime, sometimes I just get kicked. Is there something I or his parents can do to help him?
