My 4 yr old grandson cannot keep liquid antibiotic down. If we get it in him, he immediately vomits. Is there some other way to get this medication in him?

You should definitely let his pediatrician know this so he can give you a different treatment option. At his age the most recommended form of medication is liquid, but if he is not being able to keep it down, then you need to find an alternate form.

In your question you do not state either what he is taking or why he is taking it, so I am assuming that it was prescribed by either the pediatrician or a family doctor. Talk to him in order to get different treatment options.

The pediatrician knows he can't keep it down, he gave it to him and told us we just have to get it in him. He is taking it because of fluid in the ear canal which punctured his ear drum, causing it to bleed. Is there another form of medication other than this liquid?

It is important to give him adequate treatment for a punctured eardrum, so you should definitely get those antibiotics in him.

Another form of medication is intravenous or intramuscular. However, I still think that you should not go to those extremes unless absolutely necessary.

Sometimes, depending on the medication he is taking, what we do when the kids dislike the flavor, is to dilute it in water or fruit juice. This is not always effective, but is worth a shot before opting for other forms of medication. Especially if your child is able to keep food and liquids down. You should ask your doctor if this is ok with the specific antibiotic that he prescribed you.

I hope this helps. I have to step away from my computer; if you need further assistance, please relist your question so another expert can continue helping you.
