I work in a preschool and pink eye has been spreading like wildfire... I woke up and my eyes are a little crusty and I''m afraid it is the onset of pink eye. I do not have any health insurance right now and want to know if there are any home, or over the counter remedies to treat what is most likely bacterial (not allergic or viral) pink eye?

Remember that pink eye is simply a viral infection.

It's not pleasant but will get better even without treatment.

There are numerous over the counter eye-drops that will provide some relief - just ask your pharmacist.

You can clean your eyes in the am with cotton wool and some cool boiled water. Be scrupulous with hand washing and avoid sharing towels etc
