i have pink eye and dr. gave me two different antibiotcs ...

i have pink eye and dr. gave me two different antibiotcs ..keflex and bactrim..i am having an allergic reaction to one of them..(rash and swelling on both hands and other places ) how do i know which antibiotic im allergic too? i have stopped taking both and am taking benedryl to try to get rid of the rash and swelling..sincerely jodi

Statistically, it is most likely that you are allergic to the Bactrim, which is a sulfa drug (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim). Many, many people have a problem with it. You should call your ophthalmologist or primary prescriber who is treating you and report the allergy. They may want to prescribe a different antibiotic in its place.
