I have been getting a small growth on my inner eyelid on my right eye every couple weeks, it basically looks like a small pimple, but it's on the inside of the eyelid closest to my nose. It is a little painful and obviously makes my eye look funny, what is it?

Have you been diagnosed with Pink eye by your doctor?

Does this bump come and go?

Do you use eye makeup?

Any drainage or discharge from the eye?

Any other symptoms?

No, this is not pink eye. I havent been to the doctor but everything I read abut pink eye doesnt match this. The bump comes and is here about a week. I do use eye makeup. One time when I had this bump, it did drain like a pimple when I put a hot wash cloth on it. My eye clear and not red or enflamed at all. It's just the right upper eye lid starting in the very point of my eye.

Thanks Megan. You may have what's called an eye stye. A stye is an infection of the hair follicle of an eyelash which is caused by the infection of staphylococcal bacteria. It can be painful. The infection can be transferred from one hair shaft to another, usually when rubbing the eye to relieve the itching. Common symptoms include a painful pimple like bump, swelling, itching, and tearing of the eye. Please see your doctor, he/she can prescribe an atibiotic ointment that can clear it up. You can use warm washcloth compresses 3-4x a day. Unfortunately, you have to throw away the eye makeup that you've been using, because it can spread the infection and cause it to recurr. Keep your eyelashes clean and oil free. I hope this helped answer your question. If you have any other questions, please ask me. Otherwise please hit the accept button if I helped you. Thanks, Gloria.

If I do not have insurance, is there something over the counter to help me treat this?
