How long is pink eye contagious? The little girl
Sent to Health Experts December 17 03:44 PM

How long is pink eye contagious? The little girl my mother keeps was diagnosed with it today, and my son will be at the house where this child has been, and will continue to be, at the end of this week. Could he still catch pink eye from contaminated toys, etc, after 5 days?

Pink eye is no longer considered contagious by the end of the antibiotic regime. If the child is being treated currently, she should not be contagious. Five days later after resolution of symptoms, your son is very unlikely to catch it, especially if your mother wipes the toys/surfaces with an antimicrobial cleaning solution.
