My 80 year old mother took an accidental overdose of prednisone -- she took 150 mg in one dose. She has COPD, and was suffering from pneumonia at the time. She was hospitalized with respiratory problems that same morning (she had breathing problem that day before taking the prednisone) Would this large dose cause any short-term or long-term problems? We didn't become aware of this overdose until after she was hospitalized and she is still not up to par.
