Greetings Customer (name blocked for privacy),
Your symptoms are concerning and warrant further investigation. Although you are taking antibiotics and steroids which should help to fight off infection and decrease the inflammation in your airway, the fainting spells you are experiencing warrant at the very least an EKG (electrocardiogram) to verify that your heart's electrical rhythm is normal.
Also, given the persistence of your symptoms, a chest x-ray may be useful to diagnose pneumonia and rule out any complications like infected fluid around the lungs (empyema). The nurse practioner should also have prescribed a mucolytic for you in order to decrease the amount/thickness of the mucus you are producing.
Sincerely,
Dr.Bernon
