Confused about Conception

Sent to Health Experts July 24 12:42 PM

I am currently pregnant. My due date is December 19th. I had a hard time trying to figure out the day of my last period. We figured it was March 12th. I made a terrible mistake and slept with someone else on March 25th. I've done some research and gotten no straight answers from anyone. What are my chances that the baby might be the guys that i was with on March 25th?

In order for you to have a baby on or about Monday, December 19, 2005, you would need to conceive on approximately Monday, March 28, 2005.

Hope this helps. If you need anything else please let me know.

Reply to Lindie's Post: So i would have had to conceive on March 28th. But is there still a chance that the baby might be his if i was with him on March 25th? I'm still not 100% sure on the whole woman cycle.

Sperm can live for up to 3-5 days. So if you were with someone on March 25th.. It would be that persons child rather than the person you were with on the 12th. This information is also based on if you are regular with your cycles and based on a 28 day cycle too. (which is fairly the norm)

If in major doubt, the best thing would be for a blood test after the baby is born which would be 99.9 correct.

Other wise to go by the dates of conception and due dates.. whom ever you had sex with around the 28th would be a very good chance of being the father.

Does that help?

Reply to Lindie's Post: The 12th was the first day of my period. I wasn't with anyone on that day. So does this still mean the same as what you have told me?

OK, I guess I miss understood your question part up there.. sorry about that..

If march 12th was the LMP date.. then it would give you a due date of around Saturday December 17th. (Which is 2 days different) Making March 26th the date of conception which is still the 2 day period.. Puts you even closer to that 25th day of March you had sex. But as I stated above.. sperm lives for 3-5 days and can fertilize your egg during that time.

Does that help?

Reply to Lindie's Post: Sorry to bother you again. I'm waiting for my credit card to be returned to me that's why i haven't accepted just yet. There's a few things that i still don't understand that i wish i brought up earlier. I had 2 ultrasounds done on me early in the pregnancy because they thought it was a tubular pregnancy. The first one was done on April 26th which they had told me i was 5 weeks and 4 days. Then again the woman told me i was having twins and the heartbeat wasn't right so i'm not quite sure i want to go along with that one. The second one i had done was on May 13th and they had told me i was 8 weeks and 4 days which would bring me to March 21st. It was a different woman who i felt was 100% better than the last. Now none of this makes sence to me. The dates just don't seem to make any sence. Maybe i'm not caculating the weeks right. But if i was 8 weeks on 14th of May doesn't that change everything. I'm just so confused with all of this. I'm a new mother and with the huge mistake i made i just can't keep wondering if maybe doctors are wrong or if i'm wrong and just need to face the consiquences. It just seems like my due date is wrong for some reason.
