Do you mean will the depo shot cause a positive reading on a pregnancy test? If so now it would not cause you to test positive in most cases. If you have some alternating results you can always have a blood test to test your HCG level as well and they are by far more accurate.

Reply to Cheryl K.'s Post: i had asked a question earlier about miscarrying and i was just wondering if i were to test positive for a pregnancy test, is it possible that the depo shot will influence the answer from the hormones in the shot?

It is possible that it could but the tests can be pretty acurate now so it should not have an effect unless you tested pretty early. I would recommend getting the two pack EPT and if they both correspond then most likely that is a true reading. I remember your question as well, thank you for requesting me. If you were miscarrying that could also cause a possible false reading as well so if there is any chance that you could be pregnant it is better to be seen to rule out any chance of infection as well which can set in quickly if you do miscarry and do not expel everything. But yes it could influence the test result but the further into pregnancy you go the less influence it would have if that makes sense.
