REPLIED Check Mark

It is too early to be confident in the results of a negative test. I would wait another 4-5 days and repeat the test then.

I just had a baby 2 months ago and have never had a irregular period even when I had my son which will be 4.. I know they say you are more fertile after you have a baby... The tests say you can test on the 1 st day of your missed period what would be a reason why it would say negative if indeed I was pregnant?

The actual date of conception relative to your expected period, the amount of the hormone tested by the test (HCG) can vary between individuals very early in pregnancy, the concentration of your urine (fluid intake) are all variables.

While these test MIGHT detect a pregnancy at that time, a negative is less accurate. It is harder to prove a negative than a positive.

(Think of someone listening for a VERY quiet sound - if you hear the sound - you can be sure that the sound exists, however - if you don't hear the sound, it could be you are a bit hard of hearing, it could be that there is a little noise that is making hard for you to hear etc.)

ACCEPTED Check Mark

Your periods can be late for a number of reasons - stress is one the most common causes. Other causes include a month where you did not ovulate, changes in weight, some medications.

Waiting a few days - greatly increases the chance of an accurate pregnancy test.
