mucus plug 25 weeks pregnant

is it normal to lose your mucus plug 25 weeks into your pregnancy and it being brown

this is my seccond child i got pregnat 2 months after having my little boy i am having abdominal pains that are sharp and i am worried that i could go into pre term labor i have a strong contraction every once in a while
