Hello:

The first thing is to consider the pregnancy test. If you have only missed one period and are now bleeding with cramping it is highly suggestable that you are experiencing a miscarriage.

It would be in your best interest to have an appointment with your OBGYN doctor. As the situation you are describing can account for several different possibilities in which a doctor would be the only one that can really help you.

The following will give you a more clear idea of this:

1. You are pregnant and are going to experience spontaneous abortion (miscarriage).

When this happens a doctor will need to examine you to ensure that everything has passed. This ensures that the uterus remains in optimal health for future pregnancies. If everything wasn't aborted then a DandC will be necesarry to ensure that the uterus is healthy.

2. You may still be pregnant but the cervix isn't fully closed.

If this is the case an ultrasound will be required to see if the embryo is still fully intact and living. This can be determined in as little as 2 weeks after conception or at the time the first menstrual cycle is missed.

If you are still pregnant and the fetus is healthy your doctor may order bed rest or apply a ligature to close the cervix; however, this is generally done after the first trimester has completed.

3. The pregnancy test may have given a false reading.

Botton line in your case is that you need to go the doctor ASAP, for the sake of your own health first.

If this information has been helpful to you then please do ACCEPT. Let me know if I can help you further. Good Luck, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you:-)
