WORRIED

Sent to Health Experts September 09 11:04 AM

Last night, I woke up several times to go to the bathroom. Around 5amish, I went to the bathroom and I felt my underwear wet so I looked down and there was a spot of wetness on my underwear. I got worried and thought what if it's blood but it didn't look like blood b/c it was clear. It wasn't thick or creamy either, just wet. When I woke up this morning, whatever it was dried and I don't mean to sound gross but it's a bit crusty too. I'm 9 weeks pregnant and am worried that it's something bad. Did I just miscarry? I don't know what to do. Has anyone has this problem? It's almost like a leakage happened but of what sort?? I don't have any cramps or pain except for maybe gas pains b/c it's been almost 5 days since I've had a bowel movement. I still have the wetness feeling down there like somethign is going to come out but I keep wiping and nothing is coming out.

Don't worry! It is very normal to have some vaginal discharge during pregnancy! It will happen more as you become more pregnant. You might also start to have some urine leakage later on when you sneeze or cough--this is all normal and related to the pregnancy. During your pregnancy your vaginal canal is working very hard to stay clean so your baby will not be exposed to any germs. It creates more than usual vaginal discharge and will leak that discharge out to maintain a clean vaginal environment. You can wear a panty liner to keep your panties clean and dry while you are pregnant. You might want to also consider a gentle laxative like senocot to help move your bowels. Drink plenty of water to avoid being constipated. Remember that your body is producing the fluid your baby is swimming in and needs more water.
