I just found out that I'm 6 weeks pregnant. My last period started a week after I apparently got pregnant. It was a heavy period as well. How can this be? I missed my period this week and received confirmation that I am pregnant through my doctor. I'm still confused as to how I could have a full period a week after I conceived. Please advise.............

How was the 6 weeks confirmed, via ultra sound?

What was the first day your last period (even if you have to include the day you were bleeding heavy)

Was was the pregnancy confirmed, via blood test?

Thanks

It was a blood test (doctor's office) and urine (at-home). I believe the first day was June 28th. Intercourse was a few days before. Period was slightly early too. No ultra-sound was done.

ACCEPTED Check Mark

Going by that date alone of June 28th, that does put you at around 6 weeks. Actually to be more exact 5 weeks, 4 days. With an estimated conception date of 07/12/2007

The standard method of calculating your due date is to add 280 days to the fist day of your last menstrual period, or LMP.

Going back to June, it doesn't mean you were pregnant at that time, as you only start counting from that date. As using that date, then your estimated conception date is 07/12/2007.

However, an ultra sound will give much better idea of what is going on. So hopefully that does get scheduled soon.

Hope this helps, If you need anything else please feel free to ask. If you found this helpful don't forget to click the *ACCEPT* button and please take a moment to leave me *POSITIVE* feedback.

The doctor's office said that it was at least 6 weeks for sure and that bleeding like mine is not completely uncommon. Just wondering why they would be so sure that it was at least 6 weeks along.
